Business Hours/Questions
*Smoogie is run by Tiffany Rogers-Cole with help of our wonderful admin and moderator team listed above. The best way to get responses is always to pm an admin as we may miss posts on the page. Please do NOT EMAIL the Smoogie email. Far to often things are missed due to the massive volume of emails we get from our websites, paypal, suppliers, etc. We cannot guarantee an answer if you email us.
*As Tiffany also cares for her 4 young children at home, homeschools, along with many other obligations, her hours may vary throughout the day. Generally she will be online when she wakes up in the morning for about an hour, then the rest of the day is divided between everything else involved in running Smoogie, including but not limited too cutting/packing/designing/shipping/previewing/printing labels/invoicing/website updates/paperwork/etc. This is part of the reason we ask you to pm the admins. The admins take care of the majority of our public relations as well as making sure Tiffany is aware of any and all issues by inputing them into a form for her to review and take care of.
*Our Admins all have various schedules, jobs, businesses, obligations and children. Please realize that being online does not mean that they are online to do business or work.
*Any questions you may have/order issues/etc will generally be handled 8am-5pm MST – Monday thru Friday. Please allow up to 48 hours for messages to be answered due to the high volume we can experience. Do NOT message/tag the admins or Tiffany multiple times in one day to try and get an answer faster. We will not be able to answer more quickly just because you are impatient for an answer. Our weekend hours are as permitted, as we all spend time with our families. If you message us on Saturday, you can expect a response back on Monday. We may message back sooner, as permitted, but we do not guarantee immediate answers. We are not call centers.
*Many times we are able to read a message, but we cannot answer immediately. Please do not threaten or imply ill will towards any of our admins for seeing your messaging and not responding immediately in 5 seconds. Often times questions require Tiffany to answer and she is not always at her computer to check things immediately. Again, Please allow up to 48 hours for messages to be answered due to the high volume we can experience and the detail and time some require to take care of. We want to dedicate ourselves the best we can to each question getting answered, and that means taking time for each persons question or issue. This also means we abide by our business hours for questions so as not to stretch ourselves to thin across the board.
*Messaging Tiffany or multiple admins will not get you multiple answers. One admin will message you back to handle any issues or questions you are having.
*Under no circumstances will I ever allow anyone to question my integrity or work ethic or that of my admins. If any implication is made within messages, on the wall, etc, you will be immediately refunded for all orders and you will be removed from the group and banned. I take this extremely seriously as this is my livelihood. This is how I pay my bills and feed my children. I take great pride in my work, and I take great pride in my business. You are entitled to great customer service. You are entitled to fabulous high quality fabric. You ARE NOT entitled to mistreat the admins or Tiffany due to a mistake that may have been made or missed. We are human beings. We are not perfect. We do not deserve to be mistreated.
PURCHASING FROM PRE-ORDERS
*We currently print on multiple fabric types including cotton lycra, poly swim, minky, cotton woven, PUL, French terry, brushed poly**, and bamboo lycra. All fabric is printed using high quality dyes. Fabric width is 52-63 inches depending on the fabric purchased. All fabric is printed digitally unless otherwise specified.***
**Please note that due to the process of making Brushed Poly, the brushing can cause the images printed to not have a the normal crispness that our other fabrics have. This will not be treated as a flaw. Not all designs will be offered on DBP due to this. ***In regards to Borders prints/panels and circle panels. As we often use real world photography for these designs, you can expect them to have real world effects. Many photographs have blur/bokeh/focus from different aperture, shutter speed and ISO used on the photo in different areas and may not be perfectly sharp like typical design work. This is not a flaw. This is part of the photo transferring to fabric and is completely normal. Transferring photography by digital printing onto knit fabrics is completely different than transferring them to paper, much like canvas. We always do our best to make sure these are clear, but the photos can lose clarity as they are made larger and larger. Also due to the nature of these prints and printing, the roundness is an approximate measure. With this new style printing process, the files are sent 100% round but due to the nature of the machine that pulls the prints thru the machine, the panels may become imperfect at times causing some irregularities in the shape of the circle panel. Linear panel sizes are approximate estimates and may be within an 1-3in of the stated sizes.
*Pre-orders will be opened once a month. Flash rounds will be opened 1-2x a month during the same time frame. Turn around for each order to be submitted to the printer, printed, and shipped to me is 4-12 weeks. This time frame begins once the round ends. This can run longer or shorter depending on holidays, storms, customs processing, and also the size of the round etc. We will keep you updated as to any delays that may happen on the main page and in the updates file. After that time we estimate a 1-2 week time for shipping from the printer to me as things can get stuck in customs for a few days. Once the fabric arrives to me, the page will be updated again with an estimated time for cutting. It can take 1-4 weeks to process the fabric, cut, ship, etc depending on the round size. By purchasing from any pre-order, you understand that there is a waiting period and you have agreed to the wait by completing your purchase/filling out the layaway form. You will not be issued a refund simply because you think the wait is to long.
*We do not recommend offering pre-sale items with our fabric until you have it in hand. Smoogie cannot be held responsible for your time frames if you have offered items in our fabric. If you have a problem with wait times, I highly recommend waiting until retail to purchase.
*Orders placed through the website may not be edited once they are placed. If you are wishing to add to your order - you must do so separately. If you are wanting to change your order - you must PM AN ADMIN and we will cancel your order and have you re-do it. Pre-orders are non refundable.
*Due to fabric being custom printed, some flaws can be expected. Small white/black flecks and spots can happen and are part of the normal printing process. Flaws smaller than a quarter are acceptable and will not be refunded. Anything bigger than a quarter will be sold as seconds. Smudges/printing marks can also be expected on the selvages of the fabric and are normal up to 3 inches into the sides of the fabric. We leave these to optimize your cutting area. Thin streaks or smudging is acceptable as long as it does not exceed a 6 inch line. Flecks can be found occasionally across a yard. Unless these flecks are in a mass amount, (25+ per yard), they will not be refunded. Plastic tags can also occasionally be left in the greige of the fabric after the fabric is printed. You will not be refunded or have anything replaced based on these tags. Refunds not within these normal flaw range will be refunded on an inch per yard basis. In the event we deem the yard completely unusable based on the flaws, you will be sent a replacement. While we have never had any issues with major shrinkage or fading – all fabrics are prone to slight shrinkage and eventual wearing/fading after lots of washes – especially darker colors. This is not a flaw, this is normal wear and tear on fabrics. Due to the process of “sueding” that DBP goes through to become so soft, this fabric can be more prone to wear more quickly. We are not responsible for the wear and tear of each fabric or how you wash/use/wear/etc your fabric. Once it is in your hands and has been washed, the responsibility falls to the buyer on how they care for their fabric.
*Pre-Order pricing includes all fees including shipping to me. (This does NOT include shipping to you.) Pre-order pricing is discounted and retail will not be the same. You may NOT purchase retail at the same time as the pre-order. Any orders made where you also order retail will have the retail portion refunded with a note that you must place a separate order. In the event you ordered retail with your pre-order and we do not catch it, we do not and cannot guarantee the fabric will still be available when your pre-order arrives, and you will be refunded at that time if it is not.
*If you choose the incorrect shipping at checkout - you will be invoiced for the remainder once the pre-order arrives. You will also have a .30 cent fee added on to your invoice due to paypals .30 cent per transaction fee as well as the extra time this takes. We have had far to many mis-chosen shipping invoices over the past years to continue eating the transaction fee.
*Duties calculated into the price of the pre-orders are ESTIMATES. If the duties on the fabric are higher than were calculated, the extra will be divivded between all pre-orders. You are responsible for paying your portion. Your order will not be shipped until this is paid.
*We currently accept paypal and credit cards via the website. E-CHECKS ARE NOT ACCEPTED. We will only ship to the address listed on your paypal. Your order cannot be transferred or sent to anyone other than the person listed on your paypal payment. It is your responsibility, not mine, to make sure your address is correct in paypal. If you need to change your address, you can find the form to do so in the files. Old payments cannot be changed, and we will not re-invoice because you moved. Make sure your final layaway payment has the correct address for shipping on it as that is the one we use. In all other circumstances, fill out the change of address form.
*All fabric is a combination of original artwork, clip art, seamless designs, photos and prints that we have a commercial license for. While Smoogie does our best to make things unique to us, even when using design papers, occasionally you may find we run things that other groups have run, or other groups run things similar to what we have run. This is completely normal. Some of our favorite artists to use are completely public and sell to everyone as no one owns them. Smoogie will never do any inspired fabrics that cross a line legally.
*We do offer layaway options. More information can be found below in the “Layaway Information” area.
*We do not offer refunds because you are having buyer’s remorse.
*We do not offer refunds because you received the fabric and imagined something different. The strike offs, seamstress photos, etc are what the fabric will look like, minus very small color differences when printing (5-10% is acceptable range of color difference). Strike off photos and seamstress photos offer a good range to show what the fabric looks like in different lights. We obtain strike offs for each round beforehand, where you can see printed versions. 5-10% color differences are normal and can happen not only with each round but sometimes even each roll. This is not a flaw and will not be refunded. Anything that WE consider an out of range flaw, we will contact you and offer a refund on that specific item before shipping, or a discounted price.
*Seamstress photos of the fabric may be slightly edited for vibrancy and lighting. Fabrics can also look very different in natural light vs direct sunlight vs artificial light. Make sure you refer to both the strike off flat photos as well as the seamstress photos to see if there are any differences in how the fabric looks. It is your responsibility to check this before purchasing. We do not offer refunds based on your decision to only look at the design and not the strike offs before purchasing.
*All purchases are non refundable.
*Customers will have 7 days after their package is registered as delivered with USPS to inspect the fabric. Any flaws found that do not fall within our flaw policy must be brought to our attention before this 7 day time frame. Please contact an admin with your order issue. Any issues or problems with your order that is brought to us after the 7 day time frame is not eligible for replacements. All issues must be brought to our attention before washing, cutting, or altering the fabric in any way. No refunds or replacements will be given at anytime after the fabric has been altered from its original condition.
*You are paying for 36 inches of fabric, unwashed. We always cut long to account for any shrinking that may happen as fabric comes off the roll, but you are not entitled to more than 36 inches. It is your job to make sure your fabric is at least 36 inches long when you receive it. We will not provide refunds based on shrinkage that has occurred after washing. We are not responsible for your wash routine.
*Once fabric has arrived, all cut sheets are created. We cut fabric and then batch print all labels. Please understand a shipping label being printed does NOT mean your order is going out that minute or day. We cut, print labels, pack, and ship. This can take time as packing several hundred orders is not a piece of magical cake. All updates can be found on the page or in the files as to when the pre-orders will begin shipping after label creation. The time frame can be anywhere from 1-4 weeks based on the round size, as mentioned above. This is not included in our 4-12 week time frame mentioned for printing alone.
*We do not bump any orders to the top to be shipped first. All answers to this question will be no. All orders are important and will leave in the order they are filled.
*To add on to your web order –Members must leave a note in the notes field, referencing a previous order(s) to combine with. Continuous yardage is NOT guaranteed when adding on to web orders. Commenting in the group or pm-ing a request is not the same as making sure its in the notes. Only requests made in the orders will be combined.
*If there are any issues regarding a certain print you purchased during a pre-order, you can expect updates on the main page (where you will be tagged) or in a private message, depending on the amount of people affected. We will always offer a resolution to flawed prints prior to sending these out or refunding.
LAYAWAY INFO
*Due to massive misuse of our layaway options, we have chosen to completely discontinue all form based layaway.
*All layaway orders must be placed on the website, paid with paypal and will require a downpayment upon ordering. You will have a layaway code that will be given at the beginning of each round, and be at the top of the pinned post. The minimum for layaway is $50 MINIMUM, not including shipping.
*You will have a choice between putting 25% or 50% down upon placing your layaway order at checkout. Upon checking out, you will receive a paypal invoice that night with your remaining payment due plus calculated shipping. All will be invoiced as “pay as you go”. You have 4 weeks from the date of the round closing to pay that invoice.
*There will be absolutely no exceptions, no matter the reason. No delays. You may not pay this invoice late. It is due 4 weeks from the date of round closing.
*All layaway orders are subject to a $5 fee that will be invoiced with your remaining layaway order. This is to cover the transaction fees and the extra hours it takes to invoice for the layaway. Layaway fees are non refundable, do not count as part of your minimum order, and will not be counted as part of the amount you paid if you forfeit your order.
*Layaway is non refundable. If your layaway order is cancelled, your order will be cut down to what you can afford based on what you have paid - at retail pricing.
*Paying your initial invoice means you agree to the terms and conditions and are not eligible for a refund.
*Layaway invoices not paid within 48 hours will be cancelled and offered as pick-ups.
*If you end up with an unpaid layaway, you will not be allowed to purchase via layaway again.
*Layaways left unfulfilled/unpaid will be filled at my discretion based on how much you have paid and can afford with that amount. Any layaways that have been paid enough on to fulfill any fabric plus shipping will be filled at my discretion, at retail price and my choice of which fabrics to put in your order. If you did not pay any amount enough to receive any fabric, you will be refunded minus a 25% restocking fee on payments you have made. This refund will be processed as store credit ONLY. You will not receive your money back, instead you will be sent a code for store credit within our shop. Example for fulfillment: $55 paid. Subtract shipping cost, divide by how many yards you can afford based on what is left over - they will be chosen by me. Your refund/store credit code will be the amount left after this and will be emailed to you in the cancelled invoice).
*If you have not paid enough on layaway to fulfill any products (Example: only paying 1 payment of $15.75 of the 4 due) that entire amount will issued via store credit minus a 25% restocking fee.
*Issues with paypal are not Smoogie issues. It is your responsibility to call paypal if things are not showing up or going through.
*Cancelled invoices will NOT be re-invoiced under ANY circumstances.
*If you believe you have been shorted or something is missing, please open your package first, unfold the fabric and look at what you received before messaging the admins. Please be prepared to have photos/video of your measured fabric to show the admins or photos of what you received and your order. All must be BEFORE washing. Any shortages will be refunded on an inch by inch base divided by the cost of fabric. So if you paid $22 per yard and you were 1 inch short. 22/36 = .61. The cost per inch would be .61 cents. Therefore you would receive a refund of .61 cents.
RETAIL INFO
*Retail will be offered on a limited basis after the pre-order has arrived and gone out to customers. This is a first come first serve basis. It is your job to keep track of when stockings will be. I will not tag people regarding this. It is not our job to hold retail for you.
*Retail orders are non-refundable and final sale.
*We currently drive to ship, several days per week, but due to our current mail situation we do not guarantee any shipping except on Saturday.
*Retail orders are final and may not be edited, changed out, etc once they have been paid. Chances are the fabric has already been cut, packed and possibly shipped depending on the day of the week. We do not cancel any orders because you saw something cheaper.
*Retail Orders made the same day can be combined – please leave a message in the notes regarding combining orders.
*When purchasing from retail – please note that it CAN take 7-10 business days from the day you purchased to ship your order out. We do not guarantee next day shipping. This longer turn around may happen when we are currently cutting another round, please check the updates for more information.
*During retail sales or stockings, we do not know exactly how many orders we’re going to receive. While we try to get everything out within our 7-10 day time frame, 200-500 retail sale orders MAY take slightly longer.
*With retail - all orders and labels are printed first. We then cut (if applicable), pack and ship. Your label being printed does not mean it will be going out that minute. Check the page for updates on when retail orders shipped from your retail/stocking dates.
*You are not entitled to a refund or lower priced fabric because there is a bigger sale down the line than the one you got your fabric at. We are not Walmart, we do not price match. This is not burger king. You cannot have it your way.
*On the off chance you accidentally get the wrong fabric, you will have to return it. You will be sent a shipping label with your new fabric and the wrong fabric must be sent back to Tiffany in the same condition it was sent.
*If you do not choose the correct shipping at checkout, you will be invoiced for the remainder with a .30 fee added on top for the paypal transaction fee per transaction.
SHIPPING
*We currently ship all orders USPS – by dropping things off at the nearest post office, instead of having pick ups, due to a rogue contractor mailman that is not reliable to pick up mail in our area. Although 95-97% of our orders start updating without issue and arrive on time, the other 3-5% can have issues. Especially surrounding holidays. Our local USPS has been known to have issues with scanning packages in. This may or may not happen with your order. We have had orders update from “preparing for shipment” to “delivered” without ever scanning, orders arrive and not update that they were delivered for a week, orders leave but not update that they were dropped off for 7-14 days and then start updating, orders leave and then stay “in transit” for over a week, orders that leave and just jump from post office to post office in Denver for a week before leaving… etc. We have had every scenario possible happen.. We always keep an eye on orders leaving to make sure things aren’t going crazy. We have had some shipments fully update, while others shipped a day later not update for a week. As normal, we will always watch these and make sure things are running smoothly. If we see delays in updating, we will let you know which shipment day these are from. We generally allow 7 business days before looking into any order that is not updating. Please do not panic message and harass the admins after 24 hours.
*If there are issues with updating - please be patient with us. We WANT you to get your fabric but we cannot control USPS and there is only so much we can do while waiting to see when USPS updates. Harassing, be rude or getting angry at admins is not going to make your package update any quicker. Be kind. I understand the delay can be frustrating for everyone. We are on your side. We are not sitting here hoping to get angry messages about your order not updating.
*In the event your order never updates and we cannot get answers out of USPS, you will be sent a new box at no charge as a replacement.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING AND CUSTOMS
*International shipping and customs is substantially higher than domestic shipping. Customers are completely responsible for all taxes, VAT, broke fees, clearance fees, misc fees, duties, etc that are assessed on the order once arrived to your country.
*We will not undervalue your package or mark as gift under any circumstances.
*All international orders are sent with insurance calculated to the exact dollar amount that is contained in the box.
*The time it takes for packages to get to you is beyond our control. International shipping can take anywhere from 2-10 weeks or longer, to arrive. We cannot control the shipping companies of the US, or the ones internationally. You are responsible for keeping track of your order.
*If you refuse your order upon delivery or leave it unclaimed for whatever reason, we will only ship out the product to you again when we receive the original order back to us. This can take up to 6 months to return. You will be responsible for paying shipping again once it is received. If you flat out refuse to pay shipping again, you will be refunded, minus original shipping fee and a 25% restocking fee (and any other fees we have incurred on your order). Refunds will be in the form of store credit ONLY.

*Shipping is based on the amount of fabric your order. I do ship internationally. The prices for domestic orders are as follows. These prices are estimates and may vary. Shipping prices include ink/paper/etc that are incurred on top of the shipping price.

*First Class Shipping will be offered domestically for orders of 1 yard (also equates to 2 adult panels) for $5.20.
